Some Businesses Expected To Reopen on May 20th


★ LATE UPDATE ★

On Monday, May 18th, two days before the May 20th re-opening date set by the Governor 2 weeks prior, Governor Lamont changed the opening date to June 1st for barbers and hair salons. The governor tweeted his decision at 1:19 p.m. "We've been hearing a lot of feedback, and at this time I think the best approach is that we hit pause on the reopening of hair salons and barbershops, take a step back, and allow some more time as preparations continue to be made."

Governor Lamont Issued New Executive Order 7J On Sunday, March 22nd
The governors order includes a change in the previous order regarding non-essential businesses, allowing them to fulfill orders by email or phone.

Governor Ned Lamont held a news conference on Friday, March 20th at which he reviewed his latest executive order, which he called Stay Safe, Stay At Home. In the order, he requires all non-essential businesses to close their offices on or before Monday, March 23rd at 8 p.m.
